Runes are very useful in many aspects of spirituality, they can be used for readings and fortunes, more importantly however they can be used for healing and good fortune as well as curses.
In the sections to follow we will show you the many uses of runes, both positive and negative, it is up to the user to decide how to go about the casting of spells, but warnings will be given where necessary.
Runes are an ancient Germanic
alphabet, used for writing, divination and magick. They were
used throughout northern Europe, Scandinavia, the British Isles,
and Iceland from about 100 B.C.E. to 1600 A.C.E. Runic
inscriptions of great age have even been found in North America,
supporting stories that the Vikings arrived in the Americas long
before Columbus.
Runes were originally carved from sections of wood cut from the
branch of a fruit bearing tree, but energy is present in
anything from wood to rocks and gems so it is only a personal
preference to which material you use.
Runes were used to write many
languages including, Gothic, German, Frisian, English, Danish,
Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Lithuanian, Russian, Hebrew and
other Semitic languages (due to trade relations with the Khazars,
a Semitic tribe of traders of the Silk Road). we will be
focusing on the oldest recorded runes...Elder Futhark
"The Elder Futhark is thought to be
the oldest version of the runic alphabet, and was used in the
parts of Europe which were home to Germanic peoples, including
Scandinavia. Other versions probably developed from it. The
names of the letters are shown in Common Germanic, the
reconstructed ancestor of all Germanic languages."
